Hi there,
I've got a question. I've bought a new KT3 (Basic Kindle 2016) in November in Germany (SN: G000 K905 7247 xxxx, if of any interest). This as necessary, as my old "everyday burner" KT3 got physically damaged. The replacement came with the marvellous fw 5.8.9.0.1 that easily could be jailbroken and has a still higher contrast than the old one, bought around Oct. 2016. (The quality of the displays
is getting better from year to year... It really has
significantly more contrast and the background is even whiter than an unlit PW3.)
But now I recognized that the average battery life of the new KT3 seems gotten worse. Even though I've fully charged it first, gave it a full discharge cycle by using it, and then recharged it completely in one go: The battery drains much more than with the old one.
All basic conditions are the very same: Wifi always off, no light (of course, we're talking about a KT3

...) ... but battery life is felt only half of my older one.

Is this from the very last production run for this type where they used the cheapest LiIon cells when assembling in China??

(BTW: In the case of smartphones, the contrary is often true: The LiIon cells of the later production of the same type are often better than in the first one, as also battery technology improves steadily...)
Or has it something to do with fw 5.8.11?
Any field reports would be appreciated.
