I do use "listen" in a discussion if I've heard the audiobook but that's because I know that matters to some people. It's just a courtesy. And, maybe in a way, it's a bit defensive on my part as well. Then if they realize I heard it they won't accuse me of misrepresenting what I'd done. I'm not sure if that's actually happened to me but in forum discussions I have heard other people chastised for that a few times. I don't think it's valid but I don't want to let things get sidetracked if I can avoid it.
I've been in ebook forums since long before audiobooks became a "thing" and since they have I've found that people who have listened to a book often discuss it as intelligently as those who read it.
