It may be a case of attempted unauthorized access by someone, too many unsuccessful attempts to log in under your username or something, triggering a suspension of your account (for your protection).

I don't know if this is what Amazon does, but it is possible they implement some kind of scheme like that.

Also consider, are you credit card details saved at Amazon? If so, you might want to double check there are no unauthorized transactions occurring, while waiting for a response from Amazon. Good luck.
