Watch, but I run into trouble if they are in a foreign language and subtitled; then am I "reading" or "listening"? I can't make up my mind as it seems I get grumped at if I confuse "read" and "listen"

Maybe I'll just concentrate on the popcorn when it's movie time, and for eBooks and paper books get my wife to read them to me; dang, another problem, that will get me in trouble again, is that "listening" or "reading" when I am being read to by my wife from a paper book or an eBook?
