Free (Kindle) The Proud Rebel by John Glasby [Post-War Homecoming Revenge Western]

The Proud Rebel by the late British author John Glasby (ISFDB, Wikipedia, obituary at The Telegraph) is his vintage standalone western historical action adventure novel, this one the tale of a man returning home post-Civil War to find his family dead and the killers out to kill him, too, putting him on the obligatory mission of survival and revenge, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press' Pioneering imprint.

This was originally published in 1967 by John Spencer under the title The Wild Gun using the pseudonym Chuck Adams and was later reprinted by Robert Hale as part of their Black Horse Western line using the pseudonym Michael Stansfield.

Currently free @ Amazon (available to Canadians & in the UK and pretty much everywhere else Amazon sells worldwide, since this is being done via their KDP Select exclusive-or-else program)

Description
When the remnants of the defeated Confederate Army made their way slowly south from the battlefields, Dave Kelsey turned his eyes towards Virginia, to the home he had left four long years before.

But he found the ranch-house a burnt-out shell, and all his family dead, killed by men just as eager to kill him in turn. They sent men with guns after him, branded him a traitor and an outlaw, and put the law to hunt him down. But Kelsey came back at them, a lone man on a mission of revenge…
