The error was "OPF contains invalid markup" Kovid stated "That error indicates the OPF file inside the EPUB is corrupted/invalid." This means it was either corrupted or the markup was simply invalid.

OPF contains invalid markup, trying to parse it anyway
If it is your contention that there is a bug and you have multiple books affected simply file a bug report as described here. Attach a book that exhibits the error to the report (then mark the report private.) This will allow Kovid to have a closer look.
