My 2nd gen Kindle is still perfect as far as the screen. We’ve only had one spontaneous screen failure, and that was the first Paperwhite Amazon released. The device was a little over 3 years old at the time. I had given it to a friend of mine, so don’t know is pressure or torque was involved.
