Correct. SIMPLE Mobile is a T-Mobile MVNO re-seller.

In general, you save money by using a MVNO. Often, a lot of money. However, a lot depends on your usage pattern and which MVNO you use. My wife uses Tracfone, which is owned by the same group/person* as Simple Mobile. Tracfone is good if you don't use your phone a lot.

I use a phone I got from my employer, since I am, more or less, always on call. But if I didn't have that, I would also be likely to use T-Mobile, or, maybe, AT&T, via a MVNO.
