yes but ebay promote the benefits of the ebay app, and the paypal apps very hard. they even go to the trouble of emailing me to advise me to update....

just maybe they are more interested in getting the app mostly onto smartphones where they can spam out the instant notifications, and amazon no longer have a fire phone - but surely it costs ebay nothing to give amazon an up to date app for their store. same for facebook et al. It does not benefit them in any obvious way to hurt amazon's app and device sales

if amazon actually closed the loophole that lets you install the google play store, they would lose me as a tablet buyer. if I could not have Chrome browser with synced bookmarks on my tablet then I would switch brands immediately
