I'm in the middle of a Firefox mess myself, right now.
I upgraded to 57 three days ago. I only use a few add-ons, and there are suitable replacements for half of them right now. I had to get used to the new appearance, and I had to do a little work, but okay.
Last night Windows 10 updated itself ... and my Firefox windows shrank down to a speck on the screen. It was literally a few pixels wide by a few pixels high. I knocked myself out to the point that I could open a postage stamp sized window, then enlarge it, but it would disappear as soon as I tried to do anything with it.
I've got Chrome (and Edge, of course) but I really prefer Firefox, when it's working. I'll be playing around with it this evening to see what I can do.
