I've listened to both of these, thanks to Overdrive.

I had high hopes for The Last Place You Look, but it was a flop. I hated the protagonist, who was a mess of problems and insecurities and not someone I wanted to spend time with.

I like Marian Babson's various cat mysteries, and listed to The Twelve Deaths of Christmas (also a mystery) last holiday season. No focus on kitties in this one, but it's a quick, painless mystery. It's not the one I'd choose as an intro to Babson, as it lacks the charm and quirkiness of her cat books.
