If you read "reviews", almost every single one makes a mention about how much better Amazon's store is than Kobo's. As a side-loader, I couldn't care less about that. They also mention, as a con, that Kobo doesn't have a micro sd slot, while never mentioning that Amazon doesn't either. If you google "kobo aura one review", you see places like CNET giving it 3.5 stars because, despite the long list of pros, they say it's too big. I can't help but think Amazon is lining the pockets of most "review" sites.
If Kobo want to beat out Amazon, which they could easily do, all they have to do is have them on display in stores right next to Kindles. Most people just buy Kindles because that's the name they hear, and it's the one "reviews" say is best. If those people could see them side-by-side, and use them side-by-side, I think most people would be walking out with a Kobo.
