We started the day off with rain and dark, solidly overcast skies, with temps in the mid 50s (F). The winds kicked up in the early afternoon -- cold front moving through -- and the rain stopped, the skies cleared, and the temperatures dropped by 10°. Still, it turned out to be a nice afternoon.
In other seasonal news, this year turned out to be a lousy autumn for color. Most of the trees want directly to various shades of brown. The hickory trees were their usual spectacular yellow, but the maples, oaks, ash, etc., were very disappointing. Oh, well -- maybe next year.
