The problem is that it is just as easy to select 3000 ebooks that would fit into 1GB so there is no "proving" either way. I have quite a few larger books that would not allow me even having 10 on 1GB but I also have a mass of smaller ebooks (novellas, fanfic, etc.) that are less than 200K so in theory, I could fit 4000+ ebooks into 1GB.

Instead of a crapshoot, I think of this quote from Terry Pratchett:
