I was also anti-amazon on principle but passed an airport kiosk just last year selling Kindles. They didn't have anything else. I tried each of them but the screen refresh was a bit jarring. I convinced the saleswoman to let me pull out an Oasis (v1) as they didn't have any on display and I was sold. I was reading Martin Eden at the time which is Public Domain so it was only about the hardware. I bought the v2 for the storage but I never realized how gimpy the UI and management options were until I decided to make it my mission to load my entire library. So I guess I have been becoming disillusioned since purchasing the Oasis v2...but I have to admit, the hardware itself is beautiful and I hate the idea of returning it.
