Don't your personal documents get to your Kindle via the Amazon service? GEt the KIndle app and see if they exist there, if you already have an ipad? If you email them to yourself via your kindle email, it should be simple enough to open them in the KIndle app.

Made a highlight and a note in one of the books I have on board... this then goes into the Kindle Notebook which can be exported as flashcards (I guess if you have lots of notes) or emailed. Presumably you can email to your Kindle address, or any other and then those notes/that notebook would become available in your personal documents section. However, the notes in the email are in html format so will be readable by a browser and presumably can then be copied as part of your book report. Its a bit clunky, to my mind, but its doable.
