It's looking hopeful. Someone at one of the Good Reads forums ("Will buy the Nook GlowLight 3") claims to have had a GlowLight 3 hooked up to his computer and it showed 6.5 GB of available space. Also someone quoted a Nook Rep saying that the full 6.5 GB of storage was available for either Nook books or sideloading. But I'm still wondering what ".95 GB external storage" means in context.

I asked B&N customer service. Here is their reply:
We would like to inform you that the NOOK GlowLight 3 have the maximum memory/storage of 8GB. The 6.5GB storage will not be partitioned to NOOK Store and side-loaded content. You can fill it with your side-loaded content or purchased book on the NOOK Shop.

I like the light, and the physical buttons are better than before, but there is a big problem. Of the 8gb of memory, only .95 is available externally. I side load all my media, so this is a deal breaker.

How did you determine this? I have the Nook plugged in right now and it shows 6.5 GB available.
