recovering Sigil configuration after disk died

My linux mint rosa boot drive died and I needed to recreate my system. I was able to recover much of my configuration files, so I expected things to be working as they were after reinstalling Sigil.

I reinstalled Sigil from my copy of Sigil-0.8.6-Linux-x86_64.deb on my system. Surprisingly, when I start it I see 0.9.5 as the version number and it offered to update to an even later version. I also seem to have lost my plugin configuration.

Where are the Sigil configuration files stored? I see nothing in ~.config and there is no ~.sigil directory. I still have access to the degraded boot drive and can rescue many files from there. I would like to copy them over if possible and resume where I left off.
