I would like to find a way to automate fetching Series Number from an external source (a XLS file).

I have in Calibre several series of eBooks, each series containing many books (200+). They are in Calibre with all the metadata available (title, author, ISBN etc.) and sorted by series, but not the series number. That one I had compiled in XLS lists. All it would need to do would be to read the title in Calibre, fetch the corresponding series number and input it into Calibre. This is what I do manually, but I have no idea how to automate the process.

Any suggestion?
