Device: new oasis, paperwhite, ipad, kobo
I got my Oasis on Tuesday - the thinner side was very, very noticeably more yellow than the thicker side - a good inch and a half of a dirty yellow, plus it had a pinprick light that caught my eye.

The replacement arrived today and fortunately no pinprick and while the thinner side still darkens and yellows out, it's doesn't darken as much and it's an inch rather than an inch and half. I can't decide if it's too distracting yet or not.

At the same time, I impulse bought a new paperwhite because my previous Voyage self-destructed (screen stopped registering my fingerprint) back in Sept and returning it gave me a 50+ paperwhite credit plus the trade in amount. And the paperwhite and new Oasis both arrived today and I almost prefer the paperwhite. (I hate the screen texture and the bulkiness in comparison, but I'm wondering if the Oasis's larger screen size is also making it a little more tiring to read on my eyes, or if it's just the screen unevenness doin,lg it. Interestingly, my first reaction to the paperwhite was 'holy cow, that screen is YELLOW, it must be defective, I won't be able to read on that' - compared to my old very blue/white paperwhite. But it's also VERY even with no blotching at all and in practice the yellow feels very easy on my eyes"

So here I am, two brand new Kindles and I'm trying to read a little on each to decide how to get the best out of both! There are worse problems to have.

(I wish I knew if I just got only slightly less unlucky with my second Oasis and still got a worst-than-most screen and a third try might get something more even still. Normally I wouldn't have said I'm super sensitive to kindle screen shading differences, only the pinprick lights.)
