Picked up a brand new device (not yet registered), no special offers, never connected to the Internets. Purchased in US, based on the UPC label it appears to have originated in Mexico (if that matters).

Firmware version: Kindle 5.8.9.0.1 (3175970011)
QQ: Can I use the files referenced in #4 and #6 that knc1 references in the initial thread post (above), or will I need something different for this particular firmware vers? PM / immediate email notifs enabled.
