Snapped a picture of reversed text for those who are curious. The photo earlier in the thread is from a directly-above view, so these were shot at an angle deliberately to represent looking at the Kindle while it sits on a table.
I had been expecting a slight border of light at the edge of the screen, but the black goes all the way to the edge. Perfect.
This will probably be most useful to me late at night. It's a shame there's no shortcut for it on the menu gear drop down. Sometimes I'm reading in the dark while lying in bed and I feel guilty for even the small amount of light the screen puts out at a low setting. This is perfect for that situation.

Why yes, I do like thrillers.
I also have discovered that lifting the Kindle often pulls it out of the cover since the magnets adhering it to the back of the case are also adhering it to the folded-over front half of the cover. I can prevent it from happening by slipping my fingers under the front part of the cover and scooping it all up at once, but it'll take getting used to.
It's the Amazon water-safe blue fabric cover, though that's probably fairly clear from the picture. I doubt any third parties use that color yet.

Reason: Oversize images thumbnailed.
