That may be so for some updates but some were for quite recent purchases.

(I was asking for a manual update for a book where the author had added an extra short story so new purchaser got more but in according with the KDP notes, no-one was notified and I had to go to CS.)

So I asked this question and got the suggestion.

08:07 PM GMT Abdhul: Usually once you have turn on the automatic update, the update will be auto delivered to the Kindle device once it is connected with the Wifi.
It seems that there was an intermittent issue with send the update to your Kindle devices.

I edit to add that four "Update Available" books came to my first Kindle (K3, 2012, used daily) so for these there can be no "Kindle no longer registered" explanation.
