Perhaps the seventh gen Kindle Fires already had the newest to begin with. But if so, it certainly doesn't feel like the latest stand-alone app at all. The home page only shows your books. Recommendations are only found in the store. And even then, there's no true integration of Goodreads' "To Read" shelf. Rather, clicking on the Goodreads' To Read category in the Kindle Bookstore merely opens the Goodread app to the To Read shelf.
If this is the updated Fire version, then the new stand-alone Android version of the Kindle App is infinitely more intuitive, in my opinion.
