A metal case will not be colder than a plastic case (assuming the device is exposed to the environment long enough for temperature to normalize.). The aluminum feels colder to your hands because it conducts/leaches the heat out of your hands faster. If anything, that will tip the balance in your favor... (more heat leaching from hands means screen and electronics are kept warmer._
