I kind of appreciate the life-cycle of a new Kindle announcement here on MobileReads. After many years I have observed it goes something like the following:
1. New Kindle announced in press release / videos that demo the new device.
2. We all get a bit excited.
3. For many of us we say no, we will not upgrade, our current Kindle is good enough.
4. We discuss the new device some more.
5. Slowly our resistance crumbles and we find ways to justify buying a new Kindle.
6. We announce the arrival dates of our new Kindle and eagerly look forward to it.
7. New Kindles arrive. The postings of "my screen is blotchy, I am returning it to Amazon" begins.
8. Others do posts to compare the new Kindle screen to the previous one.
9. We resume reading on our new Kindles and say this is it, no more upgrades for the next few years...until next year's announcement!
