My 1st help is How do you get the 6.0.1 Android update.... Cell says its on Current OS & is UTD.. 5.??. Had it since Saturday figured it should have updated by now.

What can I do to remove the apps it came with? I tried to put them into a folder But it still shows themin & out of the folder....
I'm pretty sure that Samsung and Verizon (My carrier) stopped updating the S5 at version 5. that was one of the reasons I quit the S5 for the Moto Z series, I wanted to get the latest OS (V7.1).

There are forums on the samsung site for phones that should help. AT&T might still might have forums for the S5, it was a very popular phone.

My phone came with a LOT of junkware from Verizon that was burned into ROM, but as I recall, the Samsung preloaded stuff was uninstallable. I assume the only way to get rid of the stuff is to root the phone. I assume the issue is the same with AT&T, those two pretty much walk in lock step.

Verizon allowed me to disable those apps but not get rid of them.

It's still a pretty good phone, even with the older OS; for everyday consumer use, I think it would be fine, but I suspect
