I lost count as well. I'm on the Ebook Addicts Thread for a reason. Due to Whispersync and other great deals, I have 580 audiobooks (about 10% are novellas or short stories) that are still awaiting listening. Ebooks over 600, but some are duplicates (whispersync). Currently, only buying books that are part of my book club or to fill in series that I am reading. My buying has dropped off a LOT in the last 2 years, so I should catch up eventually.

I started tracking due to Ebook Addicts Thread. All purchased books go into a Calibre library marked Purchased. Audiobooks have their own Calibre library. I mark everything when read so it's easy to sort read and non-read.

edited to add: I don't count freebees unless I've read them or they are part of a series I have started reading.
