@deback - assuming it still doesn't work, all I can suggest is one of these ==>> In-place Upgrade/Repair - Windows 10

I've used the Windows 7 version of that process several times to 'fix' badly broken Windows systems. Takes a while (I'd set aside 2 days), mainly to download and apply all the updates since the ISO was created, but with one or two exceptions (IIRC, a browser and a printer) all the 3rd party programs and their settings were preserved.
