I don't have any explorer crashes as such, but my task bar and the desktop icons refresh (disappear and reappear, in the blink of an eye) - which is what I see, if I stop and start explorer deliberately. I suspect its related to something like MWB or Defender doing a scan, or downing new sig files or something. As I said no harm done. If I had my task bar hidden, and my desktop entirely covered up I probably wouldn't even see it.

Might be Firefox, it crashes with the about same frequency as the later releases of Netscape did 20 years ago - even when my hat is stuck firmly in place

I rarely use Firefox, so I know that Firefox is not causing any problems on my computer. Regarding Netscape, that was all I used back in the 90s, until it started crashing, which forced me to use IE for a while, until I discovered Chrome. (Sometimes, I wish I was still using just DOS and writing batch files...sometimes...)
