Yeah...I've never had it happen, and I've been buying Kindle books since 2007. A LOT of them have been updated, some have even had the version I bought pulled from sale because the publisher changed. I am still able to download them to my Kindle with no charge.
I just tried it with
A Dance of Cloaks (Shadowdance Trilogy, Book 1) By David Dalglish. When I bought the book, it was self published. Shortly afterwards, the author signed with a publishing company, who required him to pull all of the previous books in the series, and then they re-published them.
The book downloaded fine to my Voyage...I'll keep checking to see if a charge appears on my card, and update this post if it does.
