I've noticed that Win10 explorer seems to restart itself at the drop of a hat; no harm done though.

What happens frequently is a blank window will open when I open an Explorer window. (I've spent lots of time researching this, trying to find a solution, but I haven't found it yet.) Then I have to use TaskMgr to close Explorer and reopen it, or if I've been working all day in Calibre (which is normal for me), I'll just reboot the computer. I'll check out the setting in CCleaner you recommended. Thanks!
EDITED: I've disabled some and all of the startup programs using both the Task Manager and the Registry, and nothing I've done with startup programs solved the problem. (Instead of opening CCleaner, you can just hit CTRL-SHIFT-ESC to open the Task Manager quickly, and then you can disable any of the startup programs in the Startup tab -- or do a find for "startupfolder" in the registry, if you want to delete any of the startup entries.)
