That was why you got advice and snark. Oh and yes, different ASIN is considered a different book for future reference. As you found out, a simple call gets your money back.
Also, that is on the publisher, not Amazon. It generally means the publisher pulled the old version and uploaded a new one. Or in the case of public domain, there could be as many as fifty different versions of the exact same book just with different publishers. (If not more.)
