I don't have to invoke anything, since I have elevated rights on everything. I'm the only user on all my computers, and UAC is disabled on all my computers. The UAC would have nothing to do with this problem, since the problem just started and has occurred twice in the last week, plus several crashes have occurred recently while using Calibre. I have no crashes or any other problems when I'm not using Calibre. I hope I've conveyed the problem I'm having accurately.

EDITED: I lied. I have had problems with Explorer crashing (since Windows 8.1, now using Windows 10) -- and haven't been able to find the solution yet for that problem.
