At least some progress! I have still to modify how KSM calls VLASoftLauncher (KSM did not replace your version of VLASoftLauncher). There will be several other parts of KSM that are not yet working (for instance, tools > terminal.sh will also freeze up).
Do not activate the KSM password protection (bouncer)!
As for Koreader, am not sure how much in KSM has to be changed, and how much in Koreader. Is there an error log file in the koreader directory?
Are you comfortable using usbnet and telnet? This would make testing much easier for you, since it would save you from rebooting the device as often (and even rebooting is less time consuming). Which OS are you running on your PC?
