Are there adapters for that stuff?

Of course, there are adapters. But, you get none of the benefits of USB C. There are still mid-range cell phones on the market with USB micro but that system was introduced ten years ago. It's old.
Rapid charge, faster data transfer, and a plug that works either way you put it in are nice.
USB came in 1995. USB mini showed up in 2000. USB micro--what Kindle uses--showed up in 2007. USB C was introduced in 2013.

When I got my first USB C device it was a pain. But, I came to like the rapid charge and the faster data transfer. And plugging in without considering which side is up, or in the dark, was a nice. Of course, I still have some USB micro cables. Have to, for my Kindles, don't I?
But, I suspect some day even Amazon Kindle will move to USB C. Probably two years after USB D are introduced.
