The calibre content server KOReader OPDS approach is very easy. You just turn the content server on (two clicks) in calibre, then you do the rest in KOReader's menus.
I use it all the time, to add new bought books.
Oh, yeah, you can tell it to put the file anywhere you want it, so you can use the process to add books for any reader on your device.
