If you just want to wirelessly obtain books from your calibre library, you can use calibre's "Content server" and KOReader's OPDS support, that still works, as always.

P.S.; I am assuming that you have tried a number of different USB cables.

PPS; You should be able to find Max/Apple versions of the tools to upgrade the memory microSD, they should let you see and expand the FAT32 partition. ( I use BootIce to rearrange the partitions in the partition table so Windows can mount the uSD card. )
