reading/writing files directly to internal SD?

I've got a Glo HD that charges but no USB data.

I'm wondering if there's a way I can read/write files directly to the internal SD card, so that I can install Koreader that way, and sync the device wirelessly.

OSX doesn't recognize the SD format at all. Loading up Slax Linux in a VM, it can see the partitions but can't read them.

What partition system and file system does Kobo use for the internal memory?
