dear god please no !!!
despite what some might think, it's actually MUCH more tiring for the eyes to read light text on a dark background for any length of time, with some exceptions.
however, there is an element of truth here : the overwhelming majority of screens have the brightness level turned up waaaaaaaaay too far, and that equals big ouchies for the eyes. turn down the brightness on your monitor and turn up the contrast a bit and you'll see it's much better. (and you'll see much better too.
)
