Seems kinda pointless when Kobo sells a 7.8” 300 PPI reader already...
They probably just liked the 7” size better. Maybe that’s how big they needed it to be to keep the same thiness but have the same battery life without a case. I’m sure Amazon at this point is a significant fraction of eInk screen sales and can probably dictate any screen size they want at any reasonable PPI.
