Did you test the md5 checksum of the package?
Was it the same as ours or different?
The links here (at least in the first post) are as you know, private, so I did some googling. The MD5 does match yours though

Maybe something you didn't even notice when you where doing it.
I did a factory reset, got as far as the wifi screen, copied the file to the device, unplugged, skipped the rest of the setup and went to update, the dialog disappeared quickly so I pressed it again and it did the update. The kindle was registered (before the reset) but I have not paid for ad removal.

I'm afraid I did not but I only updated it yesterday so it probably got the same build again today now that it's updated which is 3202100019

I actually have another kindle bought at the same time which I may be setting up later but it's for my boss and he hasn't decided if he wants to keep or return it yet!
