I have problems with adding new ebooks.
As soon as I have chosen an ebook the programm stops an dies.
Nothing happens any more. No error code is shown on the display
and in the system log files no errors are listed. I can`t exit or minimize the program.
When I am importing an older database the same thing happens.

What`s going wrong?
I switched back to a version of the Debian 9 repository (calibre 2.75.1). This version
is working.

Best regards

The latest release of calibre is 3.9.0. What's new.
Please do not use your distribution provided calibre package, as those are often buggy/outdated. Instead use the Binary install described below.
Do not use the repository version, uninstall all repository versions of calibe then go to https://calibre-ebook.com/download_linux.
