Have you seen half of the imports from China? I saw this stuff all the time at the auctions. Even if they didn't look like badly made knockoffs to begin with after a few months the wood starts splitting and joints fail cause they do a fast kiln drying and don't even let the wood settle before milling it. Sadly people ate it up, especially the gaudier pieces like gilted marble top side tables and such...
