I maintain a family library so there are books in there which I will *never* read.
I keep track of a) who's ereader has what books, b) unread books that I bought with the intention of reading myself and c)what I've actually read. Keeping track of b and c is done in the hope of reducing impulse purchases (I'm still having problems with $1.99 bargains).
When picking up free books and adding them to the library I make sure that they are properly tagged with correct metadata and a full summary but otherwise leave them be (until I come up with some tagging update I want to do :-( )
