I loved Wolf Hall when I read it, but I think it would be a very difficult book to listen to, for the reasons you mention and also because of the shifts between thoughts and conversations. I dunno; I'd be tempted to bail, myself.

I thought the sequel was terrible, but I'm obviously in the minority on that one.
