Kobo Aura H2O and series metadata

Hi all (ahem, or David...),

I currently use the KoboUtilities plugin to send series information to my Kobo H2O. However, I believe the KoboTouch driver included with Calibre also has that functionality, which I would like to start using.

However, it does not appear to work for me. My environment is Windows 10 64-bit, Calibre 3.8 64bit and a Kobo Aura H2O running (customized) firmware 4.4.9298.

The process I have tried is as follows:
  1. Enabled the appropriate checkbox in the KoboTouch plugin, and restarted Calibre
  2. Plugged in my Kobo, and let Calibre access the device etc.
  3. Eject my Kobo, and wait for it to process the newly added books.
  4. Plug the Kobo back in, and wait for Calibre to do its thing. At this point I would expect series info to be sent.
  5. Eject the Kobo. No series information shows in the Kobo book list.

If I use the KoboUtilities plugin to send the series metadata, it works perfectly.

Have I done anything wrong? Or is there a problem with either the driver or my Kobo?

Thanks

Cheers,
Sherman
