The post in this thread that most articulately expresses my position, thank you!

Many science fiction stories have predicted the demise of the printed book and the reverence that the surviving books will receive in the future. The books on the shelves are old and dear friends and I will not part with them if I can avoid it. Some of the books I hope to have in my Kindle will become new and valued friends who's survival will be much easier to insure.

Edit: My first ebook purchase from Amazon for my Kindle 2 was ERB's Huge 50+ collection. I had this entire series as hard bound books a half century ago but lost them through the extingencies of time. I nearly cried when I discovered them on Amazon and nearly cried again when I discovered HarryT's Tom Swift Omnibus collection since I had lost those too. Now both will have pride of place as the first books on my ebook shelves.
