The real difference is not just the autonomy, it's the comfort in reading on an e-ink screen vs LCD screen (of which the autonomy is a consequence, because the e-ink display doesn't need power to maintain the displayed image).

If you can read for long periods of time on an LCD screen without discomfort, then you are right, an e-ink reader won't be very useful to you. To me, it's just unthinkable.
