I don't think there is a problem with en_US locale. I have this locale on my KT and it works fine.

Is kterm installed in /mnt/us/extensions?
Is the path /mnt/us/extensions/kterm/vte/terminfo valid?

Other than that I have no idea. This could be a problem with termcap, but there are no differences. I even skimmed through latest Lab126 changes in GTK+ source, but didn't find anything suspicious.

Without the device it will be difficult for me to debug this issue.
